Description
Papaver rhoeas, a garden poppie is a one-year-old flowerpot from the Papaveraceae family. The family of poppies encompasses about 100 types of poppies, annuals and perennials, originating from Eurasia, Africa and North America. Poppies have long been bred as decorative flowers, there are traces that it has been cultivated for 5000 years before the new era In Mesopotamia, were found in Egyptian graves, and in Greek mythology, it is associated with Demeter, goddess of fertility and agriculture. Papaver rhoeas is a beautiful red poppie that you can most often see in wheat fields, often pronounced in weeds. The reason that is common in grain fields is that its life cycle coincides with the life cycle of cereals, and it is best growing and spreading in usurped soils, in this case in soils usurped by intensive processing.
Growing very early in the spring, even before the snow is completely clear. His pale green is very fast growing in growth. May buds begin to form in May. Poppies are the most blooming bloom of the morning, and their flowers last very short. In the afternoon there are only a few poppy flowers, at the place where all the reddish was passing. Also, for rainy and cloudy days blooms all day - the flowers are open despite the rain.
Harvesting this poppy for potted flowers does not make sense - soon they will be delicate petals - you can admire it only at the original habitat. Beautiful, overwhelming, gentle, so fragile and so striking, unforgettable ... a plant that has been the source of inspiration for mankind for centuries, the look of it simply takes breath away.
