Description
Church of St. Anastazije is a Roman Catholic church in the City of Samobor, a protected cultural asset.
The church was built on an elevated plateau in the center of the village on the site of an older medieval church. It was built by master Hans Allio from Celje from 1671 to 1675 in the forms of mannerism. The single-nave church with a wide light nave and three side chapels each has an elongated polygonally finished sanctuary supported by buttresses. It is vaulted with a barrel vault with pointed arches and transverse bands. The main façade is simple, monumental, gabled and asymmetrical due to the bell tower built into the left corner. The portal of the main entrance is designed in the spirit of the Renaissance as well as the bell tower, which in the 18th century received a baroque bulb redesigned in the 19th century. The church is the central visual element of the city.
