Description
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus), whose botanical name Helianthus is derived from the Greek words helios (sun) and Anthos (flower) is an annual herbaceous plant of the family Asteraceae.
The root of it is ragged and fibrous, which forms a vast multitude of roots, and can penetrate into the depth of 3 m. The stem grows from the roots as branched or simple, light, transparent filled with pith. Sunflower blooms from June to September, a large Savoy flowers are developed individually on the tips of stems and branches. The center of the head make small yellow-brown or reddish-brown tubular flowers, and surrounded by yellow petals languages, long and up to 10 cm.
From the central flowers sunflower develop oval and flat, black or streaked with fruits. Within each fruit contains a single Light seed, rich in vegetable fats, vitamins, proteins, minerals, dietary fiber materials.
