Description

Olive has been present on Earth ever since. Thus, even in the younger years, our ancestors collected the fruits of wild olive, as evidenced by the archaeological finds of her cattle in the cave, aged over 9,000 years ago. The first trees were cultivated and planted five to six thousand years ago in Mesopotamia, Syria and Palestine, where olive oil spread to the Mediterranean. There, as one of the oldest and most important herbal cultures, has strongly marked the lives of people and has become a symbol of this area.
Olive is an evergreen and truly special, almost wondrous tree. She is long-lasting, and her trees can be experienced for thousands of years. Olive grows on a thin soil, almost without water, but with plenty of sun. Its tree is low, twisting, bent and cracked, firm and resistant even to rotting.
With this work in pastel I would like to conjure up this incredible tree and its beauty and even 100 years and over. From this Mediterranean environment and I grew up and I carry it in like this olive tree.
