Description
One of the squares, symbols of our Zagreb's King Tomislav Square, dominated by a monument to the first Croatian king, the sculptor Robert Frange Mihanović. King Tomislav Square is one of those that fits into the familiar green and Lenuci horseshoe. Green areas in cities are very important because of their function of recreation and relaxation, but also aesthetics. The park Zagreb tradition is long and rich. The most representative example is considered a complex of parks in the city center called Lenuci horseshoe (also called green horseshoe). It seems the 7 squares and garden on three sides, in the form of an angular letter U, its green spaces framed by the urban blocks of the Lower Town, squares, and parks Lenuci horseshoe primarily attract the attention of visitors of Zagreb its design and architecture of buildings that surround them. extremely beautiful park area with a fountain, which is set in 1895 on the model of the fountain with the Jubilee Economic-Forestry Exhibition in 1891.
Before finalizing had only the name Square "L", since at that time the squares marked in letters, numbers and streets. The construction of the station square of 1895, named after the emperor and king Francis Joseph, in order after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian empire took its name from the first Croatian king.
