Description
Lizard lizard (Lacerta agilis) has a dull head and relatively short legs, and its color is different, although mites are brighter at mating time. The lizards are fed with small insects and spiders, and the tail is quickly discharged when it is attacked, usually from a snake, birds or mammals. Females lay lows of 3 to 14 eggs in spring and summer, and adult winterers hibernate.
It is widespread in Europe: from southern England and France, across Denmark to the Bajkal Lake in the north. In the south comes the Pyrenees and the Alps, across the northern Balkans and the Caucasus to Central Asia.
Caught in central Croatia, Grubishno Polje 2018.
