Description
Corn (lat. Zea mays), an annual plant of the family Poaceae, and originates from Central America.
He played an important role in history, especially among the people of Central America. In Europe was passed in 1493 and according to some sources in 1535 in Croatia under the Habsburgs and the Croatian lands under Ottoman rule came in the 16th century.
The root of his haired, a tree and a highly articulated with separate male and female flowers. The fruit of his clip with the grain which is mostly yellow or white. He also cultivated a large number of various types of hybrids.
This I found in central Slavonia, where the dried stored for the winter.
