Description
Bergenia cordifolia
It is very widespread and is known to all resistant perennial, very common in rural gardens. Its characteristic is that it can grow on a variety of positions because it is very flexible and resistant. Most suits her semi-shady position in the garden, but the sun will grow very well if it is sufficiently moist soil. When planted in the shade will have a nice big leaves, but less flourish.
It blooms from third to fifth month a group of lovely flowers on elongated stem. The flowers can be pink, white and various shades of red. Cultivars "Morgenrote" and "Herbstblute" flourish once again in early fall.
In addition to flowers adorn bergenia and nice, large, round leaves open greens that grow in width, so it needs a lot of space (which at planting should be taken into account). In some species the leaves in late autumn turns red (bottom are red and green on top with a red bloom). Such stay all winter.
