Garden pansies, lat. Viola x wittrockiana, short-lived herbaceous perennial plant of the family violet, belong to the two-year flowers.
Although it seems impossible, delicate and thin, velvety leaves pansies are able to winter show teeth and resist the biggest snow and ice. It is not a rare sight of colorful flowers that emerge under the snow cover. Pansy, obtained by crossing wild species ideal winter flower not only because of its resistance, but also because of the lack of challenge. Therefore, it is an ideal plant for those too busy or those who feel they have a talent for gardening.
Because of the three - colored yellow, white and purple flowers in the Middle Ages was called the herb of the Holy Trinity. Purple flowers were associated with memories, yellow with souvenirs and white with love.
