Description
Juraj Julije Klović (lat. Georgius Julius, ground. Giulio Clovio) [1498-1578] is one of the greatest European miniaturist of the 16th century and the period of Mannerism, an artist who has spent most of his life abroad. Since his arrival in Venice in 1526, until his death, his great artistic skill and creativity in European terms left an important mark in numerous miniatures and drawings. Klović the artist who will be the first in Croatian and European art, with his Latinized name, title tie Croata.
Sculpture Julije Klović work of sculptor Frano Kršinić is located on the Jesuit Square, in front of the Klovićevi dvori in Zagreb's Upper Town.
