Description
The town walls are a set of fortifications that surround the old town of Dubrovnik.
They were built from the 13th to the 17th century for defense purposes. Is 1940 m long, 25 m tall, the mainland thickness of 4-6 m, and the sea 1.5-3 m. In the four corners of the world, protected by towers.
Minceta with its magnificent crown, dominated for centuries and today dominates the town. It was a symbol of its freedom and a spiteful challenge to all the impertinent, and today is one of the most beautiful symbols of the city. The beauty of architecture is among the most beautiful fortifications in the world. It was built by the great builders: the original smaller, quadrangular, Nićifor Ranjina 1319.
And upgrade its current monumental circular form from the famed Renaissance architect Michelozzo Michelozzi and one of the greatest Croatian Renaissance masters Juraj, according to which the project and completed in 1464 g.
From the height of this impressive structure provides a stunning view of the city and all its surroundings.
